Perfecting Holiness in the fear of God

God is Holy and He wants us to be Holy. Exodus 15:11 Psalm 99:9, Isaiah 6:3, Revelation 15:4, Leviticus 11:45, 1 Peter 1:16

Our God is a consuming fire. He is not like the other gods that we see in other religions. He is God Almighty, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. He is the God who created the universe into being. He is the Lord of Lords, the king of kings, the mighty God.

He sent his son to redeem us from the penalty, the power and the presence of sin.
When someone knows a right to do and they don't do it, it is sin to them. Sin is missing the mark.
We all have fallen short of the glory of God.

Our Lord Jesus came into this world that we may live life to the fullest. Hallelujah! Praise be to God.
His love is indeed amazing. He is the God of the second chance, not only the second, but even if some among us has messed up for the 10,000th time, God is still waiting to forgive and reconcile us. Our part is to repent, to be willing to turn away from our sins, confess them to him and the blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse us from every wrong.

Hallelujah!

For some of us who have been Christians for some time, God's will for us is to grow into maturity, not remain babes in Christ but to grow to be sons and daughters of God.
God has given us his precious promises and commands so that we will cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and the spirit.2 Corinthians 7:1, Hebrews 12;14, 2 Peter 3:11 Let us press on to the upward call in Christ Jesus!

And what really excites me is that keeping the law can't ever make us holy, and we cannot work out way into holiness... we need only accept the full and complete and perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ for ourselves.

We become clothed in HIS holiness, thereby keeping God's command to be holy.

We cannot achieve holiness in any other way. But Jesus can do it in our place - and we receive it.

Thank You Lord!
Mark.

Holiness, now there is an idea.

Sometimes I think we are too comfortable being sinners to desire to be holy.

Shame on us! Good post!

Mark, you are right, we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ. We are justified by faith in him.

We also need to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
It's God who works within us.
Philippians 2:12,13

Hi Stan

Agreed, God does His work in us. Kinda helps us all to relax a bit and no delve into religion so much... maybe enter into the actual relationship a bit more.

Thanks God!
Mark.

Well, thanks for your comment Tim, I think there is a great need for the body of Christ to look to Jesus.
The more we look at him, the more we will be like him, whole, in other words Holy.

Amen to that Mark! To grow into a relationship with God is the most important thing. May God help us all.

Good explanation of sin~~which is a word not many people use any more. Great art work, too! We need to be reminded often of the basics. Thank you.
