A natural man is always in the business of selling, the Devil is always in the business of stealing. God is in the business of giving.
It's good to remember that when we were saved, we were converted from the selfish adamic nature of receiving to the nature of Christ, which is giving.
Why should we give freely?
Jesus said "Freely you have received, therefore freely give".
Many Christians are like stagnant lakes, they keep receiving and receiving but there is no outlet. They don't do anything for Christ, or for their fellow brothers and sisters in Christ or for the dying world around them.
God wants us to be like rivers, always fresh and full of life.
